Concordia

Misiones (in English)

For this adventure, the flag and I toured the 1,400 kilometers from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls, in Misiones. It's a long trip, but the beautiful scenery is worth it.

The Iguazu River (meaning "big water" in Guarani) is more than two kilometers wide. At the height of the Falls, it plunges from 82 feet high on 275 jumps scattered across the whole river, leading to one of the most beautiful spectacles in the world.

Day 1

To approach the falls in the Brazilian side, we must enter to the Parque Nacional do Iguaçu. There, a bus takes us from the entrance to the bridges, from which we can observe the falls.

There the landscape is beautiful, with a panoramic view of the waterfalls that’s breathtaking. A walkway takes us to the falls, where we not only see the falls, but we live them, getting soaked by "drizzle". Getting wet is part of the experience, and with the heat is not even uncomfortable.

Unfortunately the day was overcast, so we missed watching the rainbow that usually formes there.

After the shower, we climb the stairs to finish in a viewpoint. During the time we were there, with a jump a only few meters away (as it seems that if you reaches your hand you coluld touch it) we could see how the water flow would increasing, and changing its color, which turned to reddish brown.

Still wet and happy, we return, eager to know the Falls from "our" side.

Day 2

It’s time to see the Falls from the argentinian side, for what it is necessary to enter the Parque Nacional Iguazú (brasilians and argentinians are so originals at the time of naming their parks, as you may see). There are no buses here, but a little ecologic train

that takes us literally through the jungle. The emerald-green of the vegetation is, after the falls themselves, the biggest attraction of the area. You just fell like getting out of the train and siting in the middle of the jungle, that breaths life.

The last station fo the trail is the “Garganta del Diablo” station, from which comes a metal walkway that runs 1,100 meters above the river, ending at the “Garganta del Diablo” jump. The view is even more wonderful than from the Brazilian side. As far as the eye can see, all encompassing the river that rushes in countless jumps.

When I displayed the flag, a lady from the group asked me if she could take a picture with it.

This is called to convert the non-believers!

Sadly for me, the lady did not asked any further information about the matter. What a shame!

Day 3

On our way back home, we stop for a moment in the milestone of 3 borders, where the the Iguazu and Parana rivers converge, forming the tripartite border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

In each country is an obelisk-shaped monument, painted with the colors of the national flag, which symbolizes the brotherhood between the three nations.

So the flag was literally on the end of the country, and from there it returned ready to keep travelling, and travelling…

Misiones

Mendoza (in English)

The flag arrived to Mendoza, here are the photos and experience. Thanks to Paula for receiving it!

One day of fall, a bit cold but sunny, I had a special feeling: it was early in the morning at the beginning of the week, when something inside me said "go outside" and after did it I saw I had received a package, "what would it be?" I asked myself. Intrigued, when opened the package, I saw it was the best gift of all: a white flag, with a perfectly hand painted detail of the shield which represents what I love: The Echelon Argentina.
Immediately, filled with excitement and joy, I notified everybody that the flag had came to the city of Mendoza and began organizing everything for this project.
Once gathered with the Echelon Mendoza family, thousand of ideas emerged as places, landscapes, etc., but we finally preferred to choose the most representative places in the Capital.
The first choice was the mighty shield of the city of Mendoza, located in the city's central square, Plaza Independencia, besides we also took photos at the main fountain
which is the facade of the region's modern art museum builded underground under it.
The second choice was the gates of General San Martin Park, there we found everything we needed: nature, mountains in the background, and the Mendoza family firm, faithful and cooperative at the time to pose with the flag.

It was love at first sight for everyone, really touched the hearts of all Mendocinos, we could feel how something so simple was able to bring us so close and also help us to meet eachother a little more.
It's hard to let it go, but it also is sublime to know that each one of the points of its journey its presence willreceive and give love, hope, happiness and pride of being an ECHELON! It's Mendoza's desire that each one of the hosts be so happy , have fun and feel this nirvana
with it,
as we did ourselves.
Thank you for the experience and this project

Mendoza

San Juan (in English)

We move on with this trip and today we arrive in San Juan, here are the pictures that Laura send us with her friends when they receive the flag and their story of that moment!

On March 22 of 2011 the flag arrived to my home, I was talking to the girls here to meet to take the pictures, in the middle I had several personal problems that delayed everything, but finally we met.

After almost a month and a half on Saturday May 7. Melu, Moira, Celina and I were going to meet in the main square of San Juan: 25 de Mayo Square. Is where we get some of the pics, from there we went to the Civic Center, the Provincial Legislature, the birthplace of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento and as I said before, in the park, that's is where we get the most of the photos. Then we went to the center of San Juan to take photos at the bell tower next to the Cathedral, that's why you can see the long walk we had around, all was by foot. Our intention was to take pictures in other parts of San Juan but we couldn't because we need money to travel because of the long distances. Maybe the next time we can save some money to show all of you another beautiful places from the place I live.

San Juan

Santa Fe (in English)

The North Traveling Flag continues its travel, today we share the photographs and message that Vane sent us after receving the flag at Santa Fe. Enjoy it!

The flag arrived to Santa Fe on December 22nd, if wouldn't have been for my sister I wouldn't had have it that day! XD then I told the new to the people here and we agreed that, due to Christmas and New Year's Hollidays, we left the meeting and photo shooting day for January.

Finally we decided to meet at the river side street at 6pm for starting the photo shoot at the Hanging Bridge, the lighthouse, at Estanislao Lopez monument and some other places we found nice as scenaries.

From there, we took a bus and went to Santa Fe's dock in where there's a kind of sign with the legend: Port fo Santa Fe on it because a route sign was a little bit far away from where we were. At the end we led downtown where we took the pictures at the Municipal Theatre.

For being honest, it was a beautiful experience which we hope can be repeated in the future, we spent a nice afternoon!

Thanks to Barbi, both Lucres, and the twins Any and Ana for had been there, and to who couldn't make it this time: we hope to meet you all in the next Echelon Argentina Mission :)
Thank You!

Santa Fe

Mar del Plata (in English)

The journey continues, today Mar Del Plata!. The flags continues it’s way, we will have news soon of more cities.

Today, Hansel’s experience, images and the story of his lovely adventure.

Well the flag got to me a little late as well, hearing what happened in Zarate I was afraid that something like that could happened, but one day the mail man came asking for me, he gave me the package and finally I was able to unfurl in my own house that hand painted flag that looks like painted by a machine because it’s so beautiful, detailed and perfect. Within the next few days I had some family issues and I lost my internet connection for a while, and many of my ways of communications with the outside world. Of the 10 days the flag was with me 6 of then I was unable to communicate and couldn’t let the army know that we were having a meeting. As soon as I could I let them know, but many of them weren’t able to meet up because of personal commitments or weren’t really interested on participating on that date, so I arranged with a friend of mine so she could go with me to take pictures on the coast and some other monuments, the famous sea dogs of Mar del Plata, the best picture was taken of course, on the beautiful beaches. I’m proud of been able to received this flag like I said before, it’s beautiful and I would love to have one like this one!. I hope that the next destiny it’s better than mine, greetings Echelon!

Zarate (in English)

After many troubles the flag arrived to Zarate.
Here are few pictures and The Story of the responsible of receiving the flag in this city: Male.

...Well as many of you know the mail almost looses the flag, I had to go 2 days in a row to fight with everybody at the postoffice until they recovered the flag but oh well, inspite of so many setbacks I could recover it in perfect conditions =]

I was going to do the mission with another 2 girls but after many issues and complications we couldn’t get together, so in the firsts pictures you’ll only see me with the flag, so as my niece (who took the photos) and her husband who led me everywhere with his car and supporting me in my madness for taking the photograph on the Zarate-Brazo Largo bridge.

Luckily on Sunday I could meet Stefania for taking some pictures to her with the flag. The pictures were taken at the welcome sign at the entrance of the city, on the Zarate-Brazo Largo bridge, at different places of the river side (with the bridge as background) and at the train’s station´s sign. Thank you very much to the girls who trusted and sent the flag to me; to my niece Mayra, her husband Paulo and my godson Benjamin for helping with the photographs, to Stefania and Lucia (who beacuse of personal issues couldn’t take part) KISSES TO EVERYBODY and let the flag keep traveling across the country.
